Pu-erh tea is on of the most celebrated teas in China, prized for its unique fermentation process and ability to improve with age. This 357g compressed cake (bing cha) is crafted in the traditional style of Yunnan Province. The leaves are carefully pressed into a round cake, allowing the tea to age naturally and develop it's distinctive flavor profile.
Brewing instructions:
using a tea pick/tea needle break off 5-8 grams of leaves. Gongfu Style rinse with boiling water for 10-20 seconds to open the leaves. For the first infusion, steep 12-30 seconds, increasing by 10-15 seconds for subsequent infusions. (yes, that 5-8 grams will last multiple infusions) this can be repeated up to 10 times.
Western Style brewing: 1 teaspoon tea 8oz hot water, not boiling, steep 3-5 minutes. You will get on one infusion this way.
